Cerca de 1.000 ciclistas e simpatizantes da modalidade esportiva participaram da 3ª edição do programa “Pedala Sorocaba” de 2024, realizada pela Prefeitura de Sorocaba, na manhã deste domingo (7). O passeio ciclístico, que teve início às 8h30, no Parque das Águas, somou aproximadamente 15 km de percurso, passando por diferentes pontos da cidade, partindo e retornando ao mesmo local.
Os encontros do “Pedala Sorocaba” acontecem todo primeiro domingo de cada mês e pessoas de todas as idades, atletas ou não, podem participar. A iniciativa é promovida pela Prefeitura de Sorocaba, por meio da Secretaria de Esporte e Qualidade de Vida (Sequav), com o apoio das Secretarias de Governo (Segov), de Comunicação (Secom) de Mobilidade (Semob), e de Relações Institucionais e Metropolitanas (Serim), mais o suporte da Urbes – Trânsito e Transportes e do Saae/Sorocaba (Serviço Autônomo de Água e Esgoto).
O trajeto percorrido teve início do Parque das Águas, localizado na Avenida Dom Aguirre, seguindo pela Avenida Juvenal de Campos e Avenida Comendador Pereira Inácio, chegando até o Trevo da Vida. Já o trajeto de retorno foi pela Avenida Comendador Pereira Inácio, Avenida Juvenal de Campos e Avenida Dom Aguirre, chegando de volta ao Parque das Águas.
“É importante o município ofertar esse tipo de atividade para incentivar a população a praticar exercícios físicos. Esse é um momento muito legal, também, pelo fato de juntar pessoas que gostam de pedalar”, relata a moradora Suelen Rodrigues, que participou pela primeira vez.
Os participantes estiveram, o tempo todo, acompanhados por carro de apoio e ambulância, além de receberem o suporte das equipes da Semob e da Urbes no controle do trânsito e na sinalização do tráfego, ao longo do trajeto.
