A noite desta sexta-feira (29) reservou momentos de fé, devoção e muita emoção ao grande público presente no Parque dos Espanhóis, localizado na Rua Campos Salles, na Vila Assis. O tradicional espetáculo “A Paixão de Cristo” encantou visitantes de todas as idades e reuniu famílias de diferentes bairros da cidade.

O roteiro da Via Crucis, que contou com participação do público, seguiu o percurso nas vias: Rua João Francisco Neves, Rua Marquês de Itu, Rua Campos Salles, Rua Venezuela, Rua José Maria Moreira, Rua Mantiqueira, Rua Montevideo e Rua Guianas, encerrando no Morro do Garrido, no bairro Parada do Alto. O trajeto contou  com o apoio da Secretaria de Mobilidade (Semob), da Guarda Civil Municipal (GCM) e da Polícia Militar (PM).

Com direção geral de Alexandro Giovanni, presidente da Casa de España Sorocaba “Dom Felipe II”, e direção artística de Mario Pérsico, a peça contou com mais de 100 pessoas envolvidas em sua produção.

A iniciativa também contou com apoio da Prefeitura de Sorocaba, por meio da Secretaria de Cultura (Secult), e das Paróquias Nossa Senhora do Povo, de Brigadeiro Tobias, e São Francisco de Assis, da Vila Assis, além de contar com recursos de emenda parlamentar do vereador Fábio Simoa. A encenação já faz parte do calendário de eventos oficiais da cidade, por meio da Lei Municipal nº 8.222/2007, e, há três anos, passou a ser apresentada também em Brigadeiro Tobias.

Com cerca de três horas de duração, a apresentação proporcionou ao público alguns dos momentos mais marcantes da vida de Jesus, como sua entrada triunfal em Jerusalém; a última Santa Ceia; o Lava-pés; a Traição de Judas; sua prisão e condenação, até a crucificação, morte e Ressurreição, momento em que o público transbordou em emoção.
