Há exatos 50 anos, o Museu Casa Guimarães Rosa foi inaugurado com uma cerimônia que reuniu uma multidão – de autoridades do mundo político, como o então governador de Minas Gerais, Rondon Pacheco, e o prefeito da cidade, Geraldo José Martins, a anônimos e curiosos atraídos pela novidade. O presidente da Academia Brasileira de Letras, Austregésilo de Athayde, e a filha de Guimarães Rosa, Vilma Guimarães Rosa, também estiveram presentes. “Foi uma grande movimentação, tinha muita gente.” As recordações daquele sábado, 30 de março de 1974, em Cordisburgo, ainda estão vivas para Ronaldo Alves. 

A vida de Ronaldo seria muito diferente sem o Museu Casa Guimarães Rosa. Foi ali que ele, adolescente, despertou para a cultura e para a literatura rosiana. Desde 2006, ele é o coordenador do MCGR, cargo que também ocupou de 1993 a 1997. “O Museu é minha segunda casa, fez parte da minha formação intelectual, como educador e também como cidadão”, diz o professor de história.

Cravado no número 744 da avenida Padre João, no Centro da pequena cidade de 8 mil habitantes do sertão mineiro, o histórico espaço, gerido pelo Governo de Minas Gerais, por meio da Diretoria de Museus da Secretaria de Estado de Turismo e Cultura (Secult), completa cinco décadas neste sábado (30) com novidades e motivos para celebrar. 

O Museu Casa Guimarães Rosa foi contemplado no edital “Resgatando História”, do governo federal, via Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social (BNDES), e receberá recursos para recuperação da edificação. O contrato foi assinado no fim de fevereiro. Ao todo, são R$ 7 milhões para quatro museus em Minas Gerais: Museu Casa Guignard, em Ouro Preto, Museu Casa Alphonsus de Guimaraens, em Mariana, e Museu Mineiro, em Belo Horizonte, além do MCGR. 

Existe também um plano de expansão do Museu, que poderá ocupar o imóvel vizinho, transformado em uma espécie de centro de estudos da obra de Guimarães Rosa. O projeto está em fase de captação e busca patrocínios. Outra proposta em vista é a criação do ambiente digital do MCGR no metaverso, em sintonia com a perspectiva da museologia contemporânea.

O Museu Casa Guimarães Rosa está instalado na casa onde Guimarães Rosa nasceu e viveu os primeiros anos de sua infância, entre 1908 e 1917. O edifício é composto pela residência onde habitava a família do escritor e pela venda mantida pelo pai do autor de “Grande Sertão: Veredas”, “seu” Florduardo, ou simplesmente “seu Fulô”.

Em 272,77 metros quadrados e dez cômodos, documentos, fotografias e objetos do acervo do Museu refletem aspectos da vida pessoal de um dos maiores autores da literatura brasileira, além de sua atuação profissional como médico, escritor e funcionário do Ministério das Relações Exteriores. No Museu, onde o visitante poderá conhecer o universo mágico do sertão mineiro, há uma coleção de aproximadamente 200 peças e cerca de 1.200 documentos textuais, dentre os quais se destacam registros pessoais como certidões, correspondências, discursos e originais manuscritos ou datilografados.

Documentário, exposição e Semana Rosiana

Os 50 anos do Museu vão nortear a programação da tradicional Semana Rosiana, em Cordisburgo. O evento chega à sua 36ª edição e será realizado entre 7 e 14 de julho. A programação contará com palestras, mesas-redondas, exibição de documentários, apresentações musicais e teatrais, narrações do Grupo Miguilim e caminhada eco-literária. 

“Será uma Semana Rosiana muito especial. São 50 anos de um museu totalmente vivo, próximo ao público, à comunidade, com uma programação diversa, trabalhando várias linguagens. Com o museu, Cordisburgo entra na rota turística e recebe pessoas do Brasil inteiro e também de outros países”, destaca a Diretora de Museus da Secretaria de Estado de Cultura e Turismo de Minas Gerais, Pollyanna Lacerda. Em 50 anos, o Museu recebeu mais de 656 mil visitantes – 30.852 em 2023 –, segundo dados da instituição. 

Na esteira das comemorações, foi inaugurada, em meados deste mês, a exposição “Poty Lazzarotto nas artes em argilogravura: um passeio pela literatura de Guimarães Rosa a partir da arte em cerâmica”, do artista e educador Fábio Brasileiro. A mostra celebra o centenário de Poty, gravurista que criou as ilustrações para os principais livros do escritor mineiro entre os anos de 1956 e 1983, e passeia pela literatura de Rosa. As obras de Brasileiro exploram as metáforas do fogo, da luz e da iluminação presentes na literatura de João Guimarães Rosa e podem ser vistas até 28 de abril.

O curta-documentário “A Casa da Palavra”, em fase de produção e captação de recursos que viabilizem o projeto, é outra iniciativa que festeja o importante espaço em Cordisburgo. Para a produtora, roteirista e codiretora Marília Silveira, o filme conta “uma história inspiradora e poética de resistência, memória e paixão por uma obra e por um lugar”. 

“Buscamos registrar quantas histórias e estórias uma casa centenária pode nos contar e com que forças ela pôde resistir por tanto tempo nesta modernidade líquida em que estamos mergulhados. No filme, a casa onde nasceu João Guimarães Rosa é personagem protagonista e nos conta, com a ajuda de Brasinha, pesquisador e ‘embaixador do sertão rosiano’, as estórias que viu, viveu, ouviu e ecoam até hoje”, acrescenta Marília.

Brasinha, citado pela produtora, é José Osvaldo dos Santos. Ele tinha 22 anos quando o Museu Casa Guimarães Rosa foi inaugurado. Emocionado, Brasinha teve a sensação de que Guimarães Rosa estava voltando para sua Cordisburgo, para a casa onde passara a infância. “A casa perdura por todo esse tempo, está em pé, continua contando histórias. Será sempre a casa de Guimarães Rosa, um local histórico e turístico. Temos um carinho muito grande por ela”, comenta Brasinha, apaixonado pela obra rosiana, lida “de cabo a rabo” por ele.

Casa de Cordisburgo 

Além de manter vivo o legado de Guimarães Rosa por meio de atividades que encontram linguagens variadas, da música à literatura, da contação de histórias às oficinas sobre patrimônio histórico, um aspecto que merece ser sublinhado é a relação que o Museu construiu com a população de Cordisburgo nesses 50 anos. Não importa a faixa etária: ali, todos se sentem em casa. 

“A relação do Museu com a cidade é a grande marca dessa trajetória de cinco décadas. A partir de 1996, quando a Dra. Calina Guimarães (prima de Guimarães Rosa) cria o Grupo Miguilim, isso ficou ainda mais forte”, afirma Ronaldo Alves. O coordenador do Museu Casa Guimarães Rosa destaca o vínculo do MCGR com as escolas e os grupos folclóricos e culturais de Cordisburgo. “O sucesso de um museu acontece se ele tem relação com a cidade, com a comunidade”, acrescenta.

Diretora da Escola Estadual Cláudio Pinheiro de Lima, Edilene Oliveira Bruno diz que o Museu é fundamental para que os projetos da instituição de ensino dêem certo. Nessa troca de conhecimento entre a escola e a histórica casa da avenida Padre João, número 744, um novo universo se descortina: “Os alunos, das crianças aos adultos, ficam encantados. Muitos nunca haviam tido a possibilidade de visitar um museu até entrarem ali. Mergulhamos na literatura de Guimarães Rosa e reconhecemos aquele espaço como uma casa literária nossa, tão importante para Cordisburgo”.
