Em comemoração ao Dia Mundial do Consumidor, celebrado em 15 de março, a Prefeitura de João Pessoa realizou, na noite deste sábado (16), a ‘1ª Corrida do Consumidor’- numa parceria das Secretarias de Proteção e Defesa do Consumidor (Procon-JP) e de Juventude, Esporte e Recreação (Sejer). O evento, que teve a largada e chegada na Praça da Independência e trajeto ao longo da avenida Epitácio Pessoa, contou com 850 participantes, entre eles, o prefeito Cícero Lucena.
O gestor, que disputou a prova dos cinco quilômetros, destacou que a Corrida do Consumidor faz parte do projeto de tornar João Pessoa a Capital dos Esportes Saudáveis, com 42 corridas de rua que fazem parte do calendário de provas oficiais disputadas na cidade.
“Eu fico muito feliz, porque o projeto de tornar João Pessoa Capital dos Esportes Saudáveis está se consolidando cada vez mais. Só em corridas de rua, nós já estamos com 42, e tendo que abrir calendário noturno para poder dar conta de tantos eventos que têm proporcionado a melhoria da qualidade de vida de todos nós que praticamos este esporte”, afirmou Cícero Lucena.
Com percursos de 5 km e 10 km, a corrida teve o objetivo de promover a prática esportiva e ressaltar a importância do consumo consciente e da proteção ao consumidor, com destaque para o compromisso do Procon-JP de zelar não apenas pelos direitos do cidadão, como também estimular um estilo de vida mais saudável através das atividades físicas.
O secretário de Proteção e Defesa do Consumidor, Rougger Guerra, destacou a importância da corrida para a cidade. “Esta corrida é uma oportunidade única para sensibilizar o público sobre a importância do consumo consciente, incentivando um estilo de vida voltado para o esporte e atividades enriquecedoras da convivência humana. Ao mesmo tempo, buscamos promover o debate sobre o tema do consumo responsável e estimular uma reflexão mais profunda dentro da sociedade”, contou.
Geiziana dos Santos conquistou o primeiro lugar na categoria Geral feminina dos 5 km e compartilhou os desafios que enfrenta ao equilibrar suas funções como policial civil, mãe e atleta. “É uma sensação de dever cumprido, de alma lavada. Realmente alcancei o objetivo de ser campeã da prova. Tem toda uma rotina e precisamos fazer uma logística para dar conta de tudo”, expressou emocionada.
Daniel Isidoro Santos, que veio da cidade de Pedra de Fogo para participar da corrida, ficou em primeiro lugar na categoria Geral dos 5 km masculino. “A gente treina para alcançar nossos objetivos. Eu estava um pouco desanimado, pois me machuquei ontem, mas coloquei Deus na frente. Estou muito feliz e alcancei meu objetivo. Quero agradecer a todos que têm me apoiado”, disse o atleta.
