Nesta terça e quarta-feira (27 e 28), o Jardim Botânico “Irmãos Villas-Bôas” sediou o curso gratuito de Compostagem. A capacitação contou com aulas teórica e prática, com a instrutora do Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Rural (Senar), Sônia Yamamoto, e teve a participação de 16 pessoas.

Oferecido pelo Senar, em parceria com a Prefeitura de Sorocaba, por meio da Secretaria do Meio Ambiente, Proteção e Bem-Estar Animal (Sema), e o Sindicato Rural de Sorocaba, o curso teve como intuito ensinar as operações necessárias e essenciais para a realização da compostagem, bem como fornecer subsídios que auxiliem o participante a desenvolver uma agricultura menos agressiva ao meio ambiente e obter produtos mais saudáveis.

A capacitação gratuita foi a primeira do ano e abriu um calendário repleto de cursos de formação. Esta parceira existe desde 2017 e, ao longo desses anos, já promoveu diversos cursos, como jardinagem, cultivo de orquídeas, olericultura, produção de mudas, artesanatos diversos, entre outros.

Na aula teórica, os alunos aprenderam sobre as propriedades do solo, quais os microrganismos necessários para o processo de compostagem, estágios da compostagem, técnicas para acelerar o processo e receitas de fertilizantes e compostos biológicos para controle de pragas e doenças.

Já no segundo dia, eles tiveram a oportunidade de colocar em prática tudo que aprenderam e produziram um composto chamado Ecoenzima, feito a partir de material vegetal de plantas coletadas no Jardim Botânico. Também construíram uma composteira, com aparas de grama e restos de poda provenientes da manutenção do Jardim Botânico, e confeccionaram uma isca para captura de microrganismos para fazer biofertilizantes.

A compostagem de resíduos orgânicos é uma ação de extrema importância tanto para produtores rurais, quanto para pessoas que vivem nas cidades, pois traz inúmeros benefícios para a toda a sociedade, diminuindo a quantidade de resíduos que vão para os aterros sanitários, por meio da produção de adubo orgânico que pode beneficiar hortas e jardins da cidade.
