Para manter os locais públicos limpos nesta época de mais chuva e temperaturas elevadas, a Prefeitura de São José dos Campos intensifica o trabalho de roçada em várias regiões da cidade.
Além da programação semanal, que consta no site oficial, o serviço de roçada é reforçado para que as praças, as vielas, os parques e as áreas verdes fiquem mais salubres, estéticos e seguros para a população.
Nessa época do ano, com maior incidência de sol e chuva, a grama costuma crescer mais de 10 cm por dia e as equipes da Prefeitura realizam o serviço em mais de 20 milhões de metros quadrados, ou seja, o dobro do que é realizado mensalmente na cidade. A capina e a roçada também fazem parte do conjunto de medidas preventivas contra animais peçonhentos, mosquitos e pernilongos.
