Disponibilizando assistência especializada aos usuários da Rede Municipal de Saúde e com vocação em formar excelentes profissionais, o Hospital Municipal Santa Isabel (HMSI) se consolida cada vez mais como hospital- escola. Nesta sexta-feira (1º), a unidade hospitalar recepcionou um novo grupo de médicos residentes para 2024, na especialidade de cirurgia geral. O grupo, formado por cinco profissionais aprovados em processo seletivo, vai passar três anos atuando no hospital.
Segundo o cirurgião geral Marcelo Rique, que coordena a residência da especialidade no HMSI, ter residências médicas na unidade hospitalar é um benefício inestimável tanto para a instituição como para residentes e pacientes.
“A residência melhora a assistência à população e é um programa fundamental para todos os envolvidos, tanto para os médicos residentes, médicos preceptores e a população. Todo hospital que tem residência aumenta muito o nível de qualidade, da assistência, do serviço prestado aos pacientes. O hospital tem mais profissionais trabalhando, médicos em aprendizagem. É muito bom para a população”, destacou Marcelo Rique.
No Hospital Santa Isabel, o grupo vai atuar em enfermarias, ambulatórios e cirurgias, sendo acompanhado, durante toda a residência, pelos médicos plantonistas do dia, preceptores da área. “Todo médico do HMSI, todo corpo clínico vira preceptor do residente”, explica o coordenador.
Aprendizado na prática – A Residência Médica é um programa de aprendizado na prática, com aulas teóricas também. É a parte onde mais o médico aprende, segundo o cirurgião Marcelo Rique. “São médicos que estão na residência, onde você está formando especialista. Depois de três anos, eles adquirem o título de especialista”, diz. No caso dos residentes recepcionados hoje, ao fim do período de três anos, eles vão virar cirurgiões gerais.
