O Hospital Infantil João Paulo II (HIJPII), da Fundação Hospitalar do Estado de Minas Gerais (Fhemig) promoveu, nesta quarta-feira (28/2), um evento em referência ao Dia Mundial das Doenças Raras – tradicionalmente comemorado na data que costuma ser o último dia do mês de fevereiro (exceto em anos bissextos).
Na ocasião, profissionais da saúde e famílias de pacientes se reuniram na unidade para lembrar a importância do olhar voltado a essas crianças, que têm suas vidas e de seus cuidadores impactadas por doenças que, muitas vezes, são pouco conhecidas pela população e investigadas no meio científico.
“A relevância deste hospital para as crianças é motivo de orgulho diário para todos nós. Agradeço a toda equipe do hospital que trabalha arduamente para cuidar dos nossos pacientes. Como gestor, espero poder ampliar e melhorar cada dia mais este serviço”, afirmou o diretor do Complexo de Urgência e Emergência da Fhemig, Fabrício Giarola.
A gerente médica da pediatria do Complexo, Juliana Rajão, aproveitou a oportunidade para lembrar um pouco da história do ambulatório e destacar a importância de centros como este na vida dessas crianças.
“Nossa história com as doenças raras tem mais de 20 anos, com a criação do ambulatório de fibrose cística e o acompanhamento dos pacientes da mucopolissacaridose. Com o tempo, novos pacientes foram chegando em diversas outras clínicas (neurologia, genética, endocrinologia, pneumologia, gastroenterologia, reumatologia) e, assim, nossa equipe foi adquirindo conhecimento e expertise em doenças raras”, contou.
“A criação de centros de referências para doenças raras facilita o acesso a uma equipe assistencial diferenciada e especializada na condução dos casos, melhorando assim as possibilidades diagnósticas e o tratamento das doenças para todas as crianças. Sabemos que ainda temos um caminho importante a seguir, mas ficamos muito felizes com tudo o que conquistamos até aqui”, enfatizou Juliana.
A relevância de eventos como este da unidade também foi ressaltada pelo pneumologista e pediatra do Serviço de Fibrose Cística e do Programa Ventlar da Unidade de Doenças Raras do HIJPII, Alberto Vergara.
“É importantíssimo divulgar e celebrar esta data, pois chamamos atenção para essas doenças, muitas vezes com difícil diagnóstico, além de sensibilizarmos governantes e pesquisadores para que tenhamos tratamentos cada vez melhores”, disse.
Apoio
Cíntia Cátia de Faria é moradora de Alvinópolis e passou por maus momentos até sua filha Ashilley ser diagnosticada corretamente. Desde os quatro dias de vida da pequena foram várias internações, chegando a ficar meses hospitalizada com diagnóstico de alergia ao leite em um hospital de Belo Horizonte.
“Com um ano e três meses de vida, a Ashilley sofreu um choque anafilático resultando em uma parada cardiorrespiratória de três minutos a caminho de um hospital em João Monlevade. De lá, foi transferida para o HIJPII para tratamento neurológico, mas, mesmo assim, continuou apresentando infecções, convulsões e anafilaxias (reação alérgica aguda)”, relembrou Cíntia.
“Foi aí que uma equipe maravilhosa, competente e humanizada do hospital realizou o exame genético e conseguiu descobrir que minha filha tinha HiperIGD”, completou ela, que se lembra até hoje da sensação ao descobrir que a filha tinha uma doença rara.
“Foi horrível, desesperador. O que me ajudou foi o apoio que recebi de toda a equipe do hospital – copa, limpeza, enfermagem, direção. Eles foram a minha família”, destacou.
Hoje, Ashilley segue o tratamento na unidade, que vem evoluindo com sucesso.
“O tratamento é crucial para a vida dela. Graças a Deus e ao hospital, minha filha tem a chance de ser feliz e poder ter uma vida como a de outras crianças. Não tenho palavras para descrever a qualidade do atendimento do HIJPII e o quanto os profissionais são competentes, educados e valorizam a vida”, elogiou.
Para ela, divulgar a data de hoje é de grande importância. “É um sinal de carinho, respeito, apoio e empatia às crianças e às famílias que estão nesta jornada árdua”, afirmou Cíntia.
Doenças raras
De acordo com a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS), doenças raras são aquelas que afetam até 65 pessoas a cada 100 mil indivíduos ou 1,3 a cada dois mil. O número exato de doenças raras ainda é desconhecido, mas, atualmente, são descritas de sete a oito mil na literatura médica, sendo que 80% decorrem de fatores genéticos e, os outros 20%, por causas ambientais, infecciosas e imunológicas.
Aproximadamente 75% das doenças raras afetam crianças. Embora sejam individualmente de baixa incidência, no total, acometem um percentual significativo da população e constituem uma demanda relevante para a saúde pública.
Teste do pezinho
Em janeiro deste ano, a Secretaria de Estado de Saúde de Minas Gerais (SES-MG) anunciou a ampliação do Programa de Triagem Neonatal (PTN), conhecido como teste do pezinho, em parceria com o Núcleo de Ações e Pesquisa em Apoio Diagnóstico (Nupad) da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG).
A iniciativa faz parte do Programa Mineiro de Acessibilidade, Inclusão e Saúde (Promais), lançado pelo Governo de Minas em novembro de 2023, que é voltado para pessoas com deficiência ou doenças raras.
Com a mudança, desde o dia 30 de janeiro deste ano, todas as amostras de crianças que fazem o exame pelo Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) em Minas Gerais são testadas para Atrofia Muscular Espinhal (AME), Imunodeficiência Combinada Grave (Scid) e Agamaglobulinemia (Agama), além das outras 12 doenças já triadas.
O teste é realizado em todas as Unidades Básicas de Saúde (UBS) dos 853 municípios mineiros e o tratamento para as 15 doenças ta
mbém está disponível na rede pública de saúde estadual.
Acolhimento
Eloísa Célia de Miranda, descobriu a doença da filha Caroline por meio do teste do pezinho, após seu nascimento, em 2016.
“O teste apresentou alteração e, então, foi preciso repetir com um mês de vida. A confirmação de fibrose cística veio e já fomos encaminhadas ao HIJPII para iniciar o tratamento, onde também foi realizado um exame genético. Aos quatro meses, ela começou a apresentar os primeiros sintomas, quando teve uma desidratação muito forte”, contou.
Para Eloísa, o apoio recebido no hospital foi essencial para superar a surpresa do diagnóstico.
“Era tudo muito novo, não tínhamos conhecimento sobre a doença. Mas fomos muito bem acolhidos pela equipe do hospital e, com muito amor e carinho, fomos recebendo as primeiras informações e conseguindo superar”, revelou.
“O atendimento no hospital é muito bom, a equipe maravilhosa, sempre muito cuidadosos com todos os pacientes. Foram muitas internações no início, mas agora já estamos estabilizadas e felizes. Só tenho a agradecer à toda equipe multidisciplinar do Hospital Infantil pela atenção que têm conosco”, complementou.
Centro de referência
Em 2019, o Ministério da Saúde credenciou unidade da Fhemig como primeiro Centro de Referência em Doenças Raras do Estado.
A Unidade de Doenças Raras do HIJPII teve três de seus ambulatórios credenciados: o de Fibrose Cística, o de Doenças Neuromusculares e o de Mucopolissacaridose.
O reconhecimento se deu pela Portaria 199 de 30 de janeiro de 2014, do Ministério da Saúde, que institui a Política Nacional de Atenção Integral às Pessoas com Doenças Raras, aprova as diretrizes para Atenção Integral às Pessoas com Doenças Raras no âmbito do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) e institui incentivos financeiros de custeio.
Sobre o hospital
O HIJPII completou 40 anos de atuação e é o único hospital pediátrico totalmente público do estado. Conta com atendimento de emergência, clínica, dermatologia, endocrinologia, gastroenterologia, genética, hematologia, infectologia, medicina intensiva, medicina paliativa, neurologia, pneumologia e reumatologia.
E, também, com os serviços de apoio em cirurgia pediátrica, fonoaudiologia, psicologia, serviço social, terapia ocupacional, terapia nutricional e pedagogia. Além disso, atende crianças com doenças raras e infectocontagiosas, e possui diversos ambulatórios e serviços especializados.
