O Espaço Municipal da Terceira Idade (Esmuti), no Bairro da Luz, já entrou em clima de folia na manhã desta quinta-feira (8). A Secretaria Municipal de Assistência Social (Semas) promoveu um baile de carnaval para os usuários do local, que se divertiram com suas fantasias dos mais variados temas e caíram na folia ao som da bateria da escola de samba Tubarão de Mesquita.

A secretária municipal de Assistência Social, Elaine Medeiros, disse que a atividade representa o fortalecimento de vínculos entre os frequentadores do Esmuti:

“Esse é um momento de que dedicamos aos nossos idosos que pertencem ao nosso serviço de acolhimento e às suas famílias.  É um momento de fortalecimento de vínculo entre nossos usuários e de celebrar essa festa linda, que é o carnaval. Um momento de descontração que eles gostam de participar”.

Diocéia de Azevedo, de  81 anos, moradora do bairro Jardim Nova Era, uma das foliãs presentes no local, conta que se divertiu muito com a festa. Frequentadora das aulas de ginástica do Esmuti desde 2007, ela conta que esse será mais um dos inúmeros momentos bons que passa na unidade, toda vez que está lá.

“O baile de carnaval está lindo. Eu amo estar aqui. Meu filho me apresentou esse espaço e disse que eu me daria muito bem aqui, e ele estava certo. Hoje sou uma outra pessoa, graças ao Esmuti”, disse.

A Maria Amélia Paes, de 75 anos, moradora no bairro Rodilândia, aproveitou cada momento. Frequentadora do Esmuti há 15 anos e aluna das aulas de dança e ginástica, contou que vive seu melhor momento na sua melhor idade:

“Estou muito feliz! Tenho que aproveitar a minha idade. Velha eu nunca vou ficar, porque não tenho tempo e a velhice está na cabeça. Me sinto muito feliz no Esmuti. Uma felicidade só”.

O Esmuti é um equipamento administrado pela Secretaria Municipal de Assistência Social (Semas) em parceria com a Secretaria Municipal de Saúde (Semus). São oferecidas diversas atividades aos idosos iguaçuanos, como natação, hidroginástica, alongamento, caminhada, dança, oficinas de coral, de corte e costura, com turmas com 30 a 50 pessoas. O espaço realiza cerca de 1.300 atendimentos diários.

Os idosos que desejarem fazer parte do projeto podem se inscrever no Cras mais próximo de sua residência apresentando RG, CPF e comprovante de residência. É preciso estar inserido no Cadastro Único. As inscrições serão encaminhadas ao Esmuti e o idoso será inserido em uma das turmas. O equipamento fica  na Rua Luís de Matos, nº 736, no Bairro da Luz. O atendimento é das 9h às 17h.
